The Artistic Maverick on conceptual properties of photographic art https://www.etilogixphotography.com/blog/2023/1/multi-genre-photographer-with-a-something-a-little-different-style

Conceptual Properties of Photographic Art

Definition of Conceptualism: "the doctrine that universal exist as realities in the mind only and that the mind can form an image corresponding to the general term for a particular concept"

I am a photographer. But an artist as well.

Current contemporary art is categorized and indexed. For the sake of argument let's just move forward.

What happens when a certain style expands into a multi-layered branches. Would you prefer to be pigeonholed into a category or create your own artistic style? I chose to forge my own style without blanket terminology. Billions of users are you going to type keyword "photoshop" "art" "creative art"? The list goes on. Now I am no keyword samurai. But, I am learning.

Here is an example from my portfolio.

What can I do to make this more pleasing? Add some crows and pilgrim like debauchery? It has lines, shapes, textures, depth, color and space. What about patterns?

I see a renaissance of life, a darkness of rebirth of a dark age destined to repeat itself in a technological race to the decline, a techno genocide of civilization. I got taken into the image of its conceptual beauty.

Energy of dreamsDreamlandWhat are dreams? Here is a portrait of the flow of energy within the psyche. The motion of the effect of the squiggly lines represents the flow of energy.

Now, did the artists of old look back on others before them? Possibly. Art movements are built on steppingstones of past artists and morph into unknown twist and turns of inspiration. For example, what inspires can be considered plagiarism and a rip off (but that's a can of worms there). Who claims what as the art community is open but narrow at the same time.

As a photographer putting art into perspective and conveying an idea something not in the mainstream is difficult at first for me and still is. However, I feel more confident with my creations. As have taken professional photography programs...it was excellent for the basics and advanced understandings of the digital camera and let's not forget boot camp month for the photographer.

Now I wasn't satisfied with plain images where the camera captures the light and voila I am an artist, I wanted something more. I just couldn't figure it out. Then came the overlays and opacities and the many tools provided in photoshop infrared like the picture above took me further down the rabbit hole. A good place to start is figuring out one's own puzzle and life's experiences and adventures and throw them all in to a pot and see what you cook up and throw together. Countless hours, days, weeks turned into months and into years as the struggle continues and onward.

But this is about the conceptual properties of photographic art not on basics of camera work, aesthetics or technique.

1. The idea

2. Expression

3. Form

Here is another example from my portfolio

What is pleasing on conceptual properties of photographic art? I was told from certain viewers that it has a Francis Bacon feel to it and the response was pleasing.

Titled: Duality

DualityDualityA blurred abstract photograph with red, black and white quality. Francis Bacon was a maverick and did not adhere to the social norms and category of abstract art.

Understanding the concept when there is no concept, it just is.

Let me know if there is anything further pertaining to conceptual properties of photographic art you would like to discuss.

My journey on content marketing... https://www.etilogixphotography.com/blog/2022/2/blog-3 x

My Journey on Content Marketing..

Part 1

Ever wonder how to navigate through the content of content marketing? Well, your not alone as I am quite new to this myself as I am new to marketing but not new to photography. I was more focused on creating and showcasing my art I completely bypassed the most important part...connecting with blogs to connect with people who shared an interest in my designs or style of art.

For now I will post a few photos to showcase some designs and focus on "key words" and the next blog I will discuss how it worked and how it did not work in achieving its goal of marketing content. It would be interesting to hear some feedback on my designs...As this is my journey toward understanding the concept of content marketing...until then...I will see you on the next blog.

The Meshing of Concepts with Photography 2022

Title: The Seamstress

Photographers combine poetry with words that resonate a concept within the mind that illuminates but hard to produce. A piece of work that you spend your time trying to mesh and all you get is mash potatoes. All that work for nothing. Just like writing an essay or producing a portfolio it takes work. A visual medium to add context. Below I use condensed words for the work below.

Poetry-PhotoPoetry-Photo

Title: Being

Though I use condense words when it suits the medium (as I did above) and sometimes when it doesn't I don't. Experimenting with choice of words do they

1) rhyme?

2) Is it metrical?

3) The iambic beat?

4) Symbols?

Food for thought.

There is always room for improvement!

Creative Design Photographer 2022 An Introduction and Meaning of my photography https://www.etilogixphotography.com/blog/2021/7/concept-of-design-photography

An  Introduction and Meaning of my photography

I am a creative art photographer who has been experimenting

in creative photography and design. In some ways my work can be

described as obscure. The attempt to portray its essence or style is

elusive in its nature. That is what makes it so interesting. What

is normality...surviving a pandemic that just keeps mutating?

Just like my work mutates from its style to adopting to change

but its essence is still there.

Technical-nature-8x10Technical-nature-8x10

Title: Transition into the Afterlife

Experimenting through digital editing helps the creative process.

Capturing the concept of spirituality dark and light of the spectrum

and seeing beyond the ordinary though it is a process as I stated

before. Black and white photography is my niche and I dabble a bit

in color. This concept can apply to any genre of course but there

is no one size that fits all into one category. There are many talented

artists out there. Does one have to be considered for prerequisite

knowledge before picking up a camera? No, that's the point of

photography experimenting with different settings. This work

establishes a grounding to build on...to find a niche. Problem

though, are we categorized and sub-categorized into pre-existing

niches? One has to find their own and pave their way.

The experimentation of capturing projection from dreams to oral

history of indigenous stories is difficult in photography. I am not a

specialist in art but I am open to challenges when presented with

concept and design. The creative process or thinking about it can

eclipse the process in itself and thinking too hard can also deter the

process. This is not who is better at what its the process of capturing

meaning. Anybody can learn. I love writing, it is in the mind where

all concepts emanate from like the heart that beats and the decibels

that pump that motivate. Poetry...good old poetry, the conundrum

of the ages and photography are things I like doing.

Black & white print of a ghost like figure breaking through a parallel universe. Through-the-Mist A spiritual seer seeking answers through the mist..

Title: Through the mist

I want to be good at program design that mesh with my concepts.

I don't bother with the newest fad in technology...it just far outpaces

the logic to comprehend as it just layers the mold on top of another.

The old saying take 2 steps forward 1 step back...well its 1 step

forward 2 steps back at times. Interesting as that may be this is

not a course on the understanding of literature. However, that being

said it is necessary to keep up with changing technology. Trivial

knowledge such as the f-stops, depth of field, focal length, shutter

speed, ISO, handheld vs tripod. The tripod is excellent for long

exposures"30 (seconds) or bulb mode to name a few. Then there

is the editing process which can and was discouraging. Another is

blogging and understanding the dynamics of marketing and applying

that to a successful niche. Sky diving in Gimli, Manitoba was

remarkable. The memorable moment was when I landed one

kilometer off target and then it happened...I pulled the chutes

strings, both ends and the wind caught and was dragged for a bit.

Basically, it was the opposite of what the instructor told the group

to do. That was pretty funny. I am interested in literature studies.

There is so much knowledge of meaning and concept through

words it is absolutely fascinating. Film studies also, as it

incorporates this knowledge from literature studies forming a

coherent or incoherent form of entertainment on purpose for effect.

Now that is the interesting part...the journey of parts broken down

into units. There is no one equation that fits all. Then again, I am

no expert.

There is always room for improvement!
